What background was most represented in East Jasper Consolidated School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 81.4% of the 790 students enrolled in East Jasper Consolidated School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 19.9% decrease from the previous school year.

William J. Berry Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 412 students.

A snapshot of East Jasper Consolidated School District schools showed 81.4% of students were Black and 18.6% were multiracial.

East Jasper Consolidated School District roughly covers three schools within Jasper County and has a main office in Heidelberg.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
